Despite the challenges posed by the warm weather and lack of snow, preparations are going full steam ahead for this weekend’s High on Ice Winter Fest.

Every winter for the last 19 years, the City of Fort St. John with help of generous community sponsors has put on this fun celebration of winter in Centennial Park. With a bonfire and hot chocolate to keep visitors warm inside and out, the Park is filled with professional snow and ice carvings, ice slides and opportunities for everyone to learn the art of carving.

In addition to the activities at Centennial Park, there are many events throughout the community. From ice fishing and Ice-X at Charlie Lake, to wagon rides at Sunset Stables, to a Museum Scavenger Hunt, to free skating all weekend long at the Pomeroy Sports Centre, there is something for everyone no matter your age this weekend.
