The 78th North Peace Fall Fair was fabulous! Apart from the rain on Saturday, which lead to the cancellation of the second round of the Tractor Pull, and Glenn Stewart’s Horsemanship demonstration. It was all back on on Sunday, judging by the way the parking area overflowed onto both sides of the road, there was an excellent turnout to go with the sunshine!
Pioneer of the Year
The Pioneer of the Year was awarded to two couples this year – Arthur and Laurel Hadland, and Gary and Vickie Hettrick and both couples have been involved in both agriculture and the community at large for decades, lending a hand where needed.

Exhibits

Talent abounded, with fruits and vegetables, baking, canning, photography, horticulture, quilting and more with both Junior and Adult categories of exhibitors showcasing their talents.

Tractor Parade and Tractor Pull
A record 91 tractors took part in this year’s Tractor Pull, and enthusiasm for the event was not damped by Saturday’s rain, as the track dried up enough by Sunday afternoon for the contestant’s to try to better their Friday pulls.

Zucchini Races
Yes, Zucchini Races are a thing! This year saw a new event, the Zucchini Races held on Sunday afternoon in the Sheep Ring. There were four categories to compete in, Pickle, Outlaw, Monster and Goldilocks.
